I'm A Red Rider, I Ride With Diabetes

It's weird how life can slap you around a little; everything changes with a phone call from your doctor's office. For me, it was a call from a physician's assistant, informing me that my recent. A1C and blood glucose tests were back, and the results were not unexpected. I'm diabetic. But with my family history and sedentary lifestyle, I was kidding myself that I'd dodge that bullet. I'm Type II, and no medication prescribed as yet. I'm currently checking my "numbers" with daily home blood tests and using various fitness apps and gadgets to track activity, carbs, and calories. Who left the door open? I'm confused, as usually there are these things called "jetways," but I don't know Stansted airport and it was a Ryanair flight, so that's the equivalent of airborne steerage, and likely using a little-used gate or parking area because it's cheaper. Stansted delays after Ryanair passengers go through wrong door Thousands faced delays of up to an hour…

We Apologize For The Inconvenience (and the lack of food and TP)

These poor passengers on Etihad were held on the plane for 12 hours during a fog delay at Abu Dhabi before taking off for a long flight to San Francisco. That's more than 12 hours in the air, too. Not only did they run out of food, the toilets must have been shocking. Passengers stuck on Etihad plane for 28 hours after fog delays flight Hundreds of passengers endure 12 hours on tarmac and complain of lack of food and information Read at Google+

    It Looks Pretty At First

… but then it quickly gets dismal and slushy. However, if there's enough new snow next week, we might be able to go cross-country skiing, so there's that. More snow expected to follow crashing temperatures Temperatures will plummet to dangerously low levels overnight as snowstorms that began overnight are expected to dump up to 6 inches of snow in some parts of northern Illinois by the time they finish Tuesday morning.
