    TAR4’s Chip Counts Neocon Coup

Okay, this works for me on so many levels: towleroad reports he’s a friend of TAR4’s Chip (not to be confused with TAR5 Chip). Anyway, the .50 millionaire of Season 4 is at the Democratic National Convention and had an encounter of his own with Bill O’Reilly. Remember him? He was one of the married guys. 😉 ‘Bill, I am gay, was married, and would appreciate you maybe next time on your show recognizing that two same-sex people in love should share the same rights as any other couple.’ He said, ‘I will consider it.’ Someone should start a blog…

Small Town Utah, Closed Mind Utah

Herriman Mayor J. Lynn Crane balked at allowing a group opposing a proposed constitutional amendment banning gay marriage to pass out literature from a booth at the city’s founders day party last Saturday. But Crane’s decision may put the 5-year-old city on shaky legal ground Utahns – if you see a booth for Don’t Amend Alliance in Layton, Tooele, Park City or Torrey at your local 4th of July celebration, step up and say hello. And by the way, no they’re not recruiting. Sheesh. Disclaimer: My marriage continues to thrive no matter how many gay people manage to commit matrimony.…

I will not cry at work, I will not cry at work

There are times when I think people are capable of not being so bad after all — times when it’s impossible to keep the grin from spreading, and you wonder if you’re really worthy of all this spontaneous stranger-loving goodwill, and maybe they should save it for the elderly ladies who must’ve been through so much more. I feel like a kid — a 28-year-old who’s lucky and ahead of the game, even though my straight peers all seem already married and property-owning, but they’re in such a different world, these guys are closer, really, and even the straight cheerleaders…

Preaching to the Choir, which is Not Listening

Just four months after an alliance of conservative Christians was threatening a churchgoer revolt unless President Bush championed an amendment banning same-sex marriage, members say they have been surprised and disappointed by what they call a tepid response from the pews. Most of the groups supporting the proposed federal constitutional amendment concede that it appears all but dead in Congress for this election year. As Massachusetts prepares to become the first state in the nation to allow same-sex marriage on Monday, several high-profile conservatives say they are now pinning their hopes mainly on reaction to events there, betting that scenes…

    P-Town Races Five Miles Long

BOSTON – A federal judge Thursday rejected a last-minute bid by conservative groups to block the nation’s first state-sanctioned gay marriages from taking place in Massachusetts next week. The line to get married forms on the far left in Provincetown – get ready, set, go! Run like the wind, couples in love, and get hitched while the hitchin’ is good! And yes, so far my own marriage is still not threatened one little bit by the marriage of gay persons. So there, nyah.

    Oregon Freezes Before The Thaw

The only US jurisdiction currently to allow homosexual weddings has suspended them while equally moving to grant such unions historic legal recognition. A circuit judge in Multnomah County, Oregon, ordered a freeze on gay marriage licenses to give the State Legislature a chance to formalise them. Judge Frank Bearden also ordered the state to recognise the 3,022 licenses issued in the county since 3 March. The move is a first for the entire US, where the issue has divided opinion. There are plenty of related links in the right hand column in this article. When I lived in Oregon, in…
