Oh hai! iz last hi-landur « I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER? It had to happen: the LOLcat community takes a swipe at Highlander fandom. And I have to do my bit. Methos: “O noes! I has kil Silus! I liken Silus!” Silas: “kthxbai. KWIKNINX0RZ!!1!” By the way, what the heck is up with the “next Highlander movie” going direct to SciFi this Saturday? Why even bother? Even we former l33t fenwomen, who went to all the cons and bought all the Highlander Store junk, are scratching our heads. [tags]LOLcat, Icanhascheezburger, Highlander[/tags]

My husband David and I spent the weekend either running around in the heat shopping for materials for a couple of easily-accomplished home improvement tasks, or dragging ourselves “into the cool” of the house to have a tasty beverage and recover our energy for a bit. Also, there was napping. It was a good weekend for that. We managed to complete one little project day before yesterday, on Saturday. The guys that poured the driveway had left trenches down the side of the driveway where the wooden forms had been staked into the ground for the pour, and after looking…

Damn, I laughed so hard at this, I might need a new chair. Via the ever-excellent Hullabaloo: “White Power!†the Nazi’s shouted, “White Flour?†the clowns yelled back running in circles throwing flour in the air and raising separate letters which spelt “White Flourâ€. “White Power!†the Nazi’s angrily shouted once more, “White flowers?†the clowns cheers and threw white flowers in the air and danced about merrily. “White Power!†the Nazi’s tried once again in a doomed and somewhat funny attempt to clarify their message, “ohhhhhh!†the clowns yelled “Tight Shower!†and held a solar shower in the air…

Spoilers Ho! There are graphic links to upcoming episodes and titles with far too much information if you look too closely at the right hand sidebar on Behind the Sofa. But it’s a “for adults only” kind of fan/review site with plenty of, er, bodily fluids being bandied about, spewed, and wiped up. But it’s quite funny and insightful reading, once you step around the gleeful puddles of fangoo generated by the reappearance of some crabby monsters – just as a kind of slobby bottom-dressing to the main action – from a “classic” episode in 1967. Behind the Sofa –…

AKMA’s Random Thoughts Now, let’s ask the embarrassing question. which is your church more like: the office funny guy repeating something that someone once thought was amusing, or the brilliantly subtle, detailed creation of a physical-world Kwik-E-Mart? Much of the time, my rants about attention to detail and communicating carefully and responsibly and deliberately, are drowned out by a culture of casualness, spontaneity, free-wheelin’ yada yada yada. Hey, spontaneity and relaxation and freedom are good things, I approve of them. But attention to detail — by people who know what they’re doing — makes a difference, and viewers, visitors, congregants…

FRONTLINE: endgame | PBS I caught the tail end of this before “P.O.V.” started – looked interesting and you can watch online.

Destination Creation» Blog Archive » Reality Simpsons: The Family They all look like my cow-orkers. Really. Lisa looks just like this woman from another team who pretty much smiles like that constantly, although her hair isn’t spiky. Bart looks… disturbingly like someone who’s been on my team before and has bounced to and from several other teams – too smart for his own good, he gets bored and likes change. Even Maggie looks like someone, although the person I have in mind is a lot older and a LOT more talkative. Marge looks like Lisa, but also resembles the one…

Chicago Tribune | The Watcher “It was more of a trip for Ziva than for Cote,” the actress said of her character on “NCIS,” which has its fourth-season finale 7 p.m. Tuesday, Ch. 2. “It absolutely informed my insights into her soul.” That’s pretty cool! Actress Cote de Pablo, who plays Israeli former Mossad agent Ziva David on NCIS, just got back from a tour of Israel – apparently someone in the Israeli tourism department likes the show and put it together for her. One of the commenters at Maureen Ryan’s “The Watcher” blog said simply ” <3 Ziva ”…

My husband David and I spend most evenings in front of the television, and I’ve blogged before about what we watch. Our watch list includes a lot of criminal investigative shows, and yes, we watch all three CSI shows – the original set in Las Vegas, the one set in Miami, and the one set in New York. These three shows have a definite hierarchy in our viewing habits and in our attitudes toward them; we like and respect the original show, we diss the Miami one but watch it anyway, and we like and respect the New York outing.…

SCIFI.COM | The Dresden Files Man, I've been getting a fair number of hits for any mention of this excellent show. The SciFi Channel's page for the show has a lot of features, quizzes, interviews with Paul Blackthorne, who plays wizard Harry Dresden. There are four video Q&A's – I'm about to sit here and watch them all – but the main thing that strikes the viewer is Blackthorne's cultured British accent. Also, thus far he is reading "forum" questions on a silver laptop in the SciFi offices in New York, but NEVER TOUCHES the KEYBOARD. Knowing his character's electromagnetic…
