Of the various Amazing Race teams, Dennis and Erika seem the most interesting of the “models and beauty queens” set. After all, nekkid skydiving is quite an accomplishment for a girl. Over at TWOP, we’re wondering about this photo, which was taken at TARcon3, the fan-and-racers party that took place the night of the TAR3 finale in New York (yes, that’s right, the Racers show up – some of them come straight from the CBS party as soon as the winners are revealed). As we’re coming up on the fifth season, TARcon5 will be held in New York for the…

Ooh! Look at the pretties! This blog operates as kind of a digest of castmembers’ posts from something called the “original board” and also from the Fireflymovie.com fan site. It points to yet ANOTHER blog that is hosted on the official SerenityMovie site. It’s a mite confusing keeping all the kinblogs and message boards straight but if you’re a fan of Joss Whedon’s short-lived Firefly television series (and soon-to-be Big Damn Movie coming to a theater near you), you’ll have to read it all. I don’t know who’s doing it, but I hope they got permission for all the reposts……

Vince Vaughn has pitched his take on the proposed live-action Speed Racer movie, based on the Japanese animated series, with himself cast as Racer X… Heads up, David! This may be coming to a theater near us.

Get Fuzzy takes a swipe at FoxTV for me so that I don’t have to. And while we’re on the subject of favorite shows formerly on Fox, the excellent folks over at FireflyFans.net have got a great campaign going to help get new Firefly fans excited about the upcoming movie – they’re buying DVD sets and donating them to troops and military stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, on Navy ships. I think this is an excellent project and wish them all success. I know it’ll be appreciated; after reading ginmar’s blog about all the closet Buffy fans in Iraq begging to…

I am so totally Sir Bedevere. The “construct large badgers” part is especially spot-on as character assessment. They are quite useless and don’t look remotely badgerlike, however. They resemble large piles of unfolded laundry more than anything else. The quiz was making the rounds of the TWOP / Amazing Race Meet Market board, so naturally I had to come up with the stupidest answer. Everyone else got to be the killer bunny or King Arthur or that fop Lancelot. Me, I have to lift my completely useless facemask thingy in order to say anything of the least consequence, which is…

Holy Crap! We’ve GOT to go to the Browncoat Ball! They’ve got a Captain Tightpants competition, too. Hmm.

Sci Fi Wire — The News Service of the Sci Fi Channel>Cartoon Network is developing an expanded version of its Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series, Variety reported. The network and Lucasfilm will create five new 12-minute Clone Wars segments, expanding on the original three-minute toons, the trade paper reported. Okay, that makes the fact that the third (actually sixth) installment of Star Wars less “meh” for me. Far less meh, in fact.

Richard Dean Anderson, the star and an executive producer of SCI FI Channel’s original series Stargate SG-1, told SCI FI Wire that he has reduced his shooting schedule in the upcoming eighth season, but not necessarily his appearances in the show’s episodes. Speaking in an interview on the show’s Vancouver, B.C., set, Anderson (Jack O’Neill) said that he has reduced the number of days he shoots in Canada to allow him to spend more time at his home in Southern California, where he cares for a 5-year-old daughter. Nice for him. Maintaining radio silence with difficulty on one of my…

CBS News | 22 New ‘Amazing Race’Travelers | June 9, 2004 10:52:31 This was announced earlier today on The Early Show, which apparently only TAR and Survivor fans watch for team updates and castoffs. AAAAAAH!!! I can’t watch the video here… someplace… due to a !&#$(!$ firewall… will have to wait until I get home. New word: “Zomp.” Apparently means “crush” or “stomp.” Will probably not replace “BOMP!” in the hearts of TAR fans – this is the blaring horn sound heard at the end of the theme music, which indicates “Here we go, hang on tight!” And yes, I’m wearing…
