    Got it sorted

Needed some spacing and line break tweaks to avoid invoking the Smiley of Head-Shaking Disbelief. Oh, and that reminds me, I should think about re-applying clickable smileys again. One quirk of iTunes and ecto and WMPtunelog now is that I have to stop and restart the music to get multiple music citations in the same post. I am one fierce tweaking twiddling diva. I am not yet worthy to be a Liberal Peace-Mongering Ninja, however. I was invited to take part in the event, but had that urgent family nosh event to attend. Now listening: ♫ KT Tunstall:Suddenly I See:…

    Well, crap, FAIL

I just lost a post to ecto Hell; I did not save it first before attempting to publish, not realizing that my internet connection dropped. I’ve got 3 new stylesheets working – Talian3C (center content), Talian3CR (sidebars on right), with my hacked drop-shadows added to their stylesheets. Also fiddled with ecto trying to add a musical note character entity to the media template. Now listening:%#9835; Liz Phair:Polyester Bride:Whitechocolatespaceegg[4:05] Trying this again…

    More Gifts

There’s also a classic chalice and paten in silver that we’re hoping to bundle off to a new home. I’m hoping for more items to be added, but we’re a blended church family and I don’t need the Altar Guild coming after me looking for their swag. The Gifts of God for the People of God

Closeup of a set of Eucharist vessels from St Nicholas that have been there since it the church was founded – they must have been donated, as they’re dated from several years before the year ground was broken. St Nick’s is a small Episcopal parish in Elk Grove Village, IL. It was designed by a well known Chicago architect called Edward (Ned) Dart, who also designed the former Holy Innocents Episcopal Church. Both small missions merged on New Year’s Day, 2007. We need program space, and we don’t have a lot of storage space, and some duplicate items… so it’s…

My Next Phone? The Motorola U9 Might Be It

I trust this man’s judgment in all things giqueteque: He played Jeeves and Cardinal Melchett, but he’s also a whiz with personal gadgetry. Stephen Fry » Blog Archive » What witchcraft is this? What is new is that there is no secondary screen; the whole exterior of the phone is pure glossy violet plastic, giving no hint of display capability. The image appears to be going on somehow inside the very surface of the plastic cover. What’s more, if I close the phone while playing a track, a music player now appears – a touch-sensitive music player at that. It…

    The Xmess Box

Wow! In spite of my sister Timmy’s poor opinion of my housekeeping skillz, the Xmess box is all packed up and sitting in the hall! Where it’s been for the last year. Actually, more than a year. Last year, I hauled it out of the garage sometime in early December, thinking that if I felt like it, I’d get around to putting up the Christmas tree and decorations. But last year was the first one after Mom passed away, and I never did get around to it, although I felt horribly anxious about the countdown to Christmas, and positively in…

Hotel Drinking Glasses: Bring Your Own!

I’ll never sneer at single-use plastic cups in hotel rooms again. Did you ever wonder whether housekeeping transports all the dirty glasses to the kitchen to be washed in hot, sanitizing water? Well, they don’t, for the most part. At least not the folks who clean your room, they can’t be bothered because they probably have a quota to make by a certain time. A hotel with room service might do better, but you should leave your dirty crockery out in the hall to be collected… but who would think to leave all the used drinking glasses out there too?…
