Lifehacker wants to know if I work from home, but they apparently don’t want me to quote their article, just comment there. So I did, but kept screwing up their sign-in screen. What’s the deal with creating a key that can’t be copied, only shown on screen as an image? Anyway, yes, I like working from home. It was particularly nice today watching the latest winter storm blow in and dump about 5 inches of snow. However, network problems made my day somewhat challenging, and as David was home today too, he had to listen to my howls of outrage…

Ran across this just now via a Twitter link, great site and nice formatting, too. I’ve been wondering about this false narrative of failure, too. It’s another example of political projection; they’re still sore that “George W. Bush was a miserable failure” in the Googles. Obama has been a lot more successful than Republican obstructionism ought to have allowed him to be; guess we can add “Republican obstructionism is a miserable failure” to their list of dubious accomplishments In Republican reality, President Obama is a failure. The sport, which is has its roots in surfing, uses a board and paddle to scoot along the water, building strength and coordination. “It has caught on anywhere there’s a body of water,” says Matt Minich, editorial director of Bootprints.com, a weekly sports and adventure newsletter . He says the sport’s easier than surfing and can be mastered by most anyone. Some paddle boarders even do…

Brouilette was a fine priest, a great preacher, and a terrific musician. He played guitar, and a mean banjo – he had a Pete Seeger model, complete with "this machine kills fascists" motto. He was also an avid runner before being diagnosed with liver disease almost 2 years ago. It’s been a long, slow fight, and we had some hope when he was approved for a transplant. But then the match…
