This past week, Linden Lab announced the start of beta testing of “experience keys,†a new tool for creators that allows them to by-pass some of the scripted permission dialogs. So, for example, if… from Hypergrid Business http://ift.tt/1rzda6z via IFTTT

Hi, I have a problem with adding light sources objects to my object with material textures enabled. I want to create water with many lights reflecting in it. When I add more than 5 (somethimes 6) objects with light one reflection (of previously added objects with light) automatically turns off. Is this something what I can fix with viewr settings? from Building and Texturing Forum topics http://ift.tt/1vJy3JV via IFTTT

I was cleaning out mail from some of my Gmail.com accounts and realized that even deleting almost all of the unwanted mail still left 11G of stuff stored in there. At some point, I must have enabled the photo backup feature and WHOA. It had EVERYTHING on my iPhone, everything in Picasa. If you take a lot of pictures of a Christmas tree from the same angle, you get an animated, twinkly Tannenbaum (with people dancing around it if they’re decorating). It’s actually kind of a pretty effect – Christmas Eve 2013, singing Silent Night with guitar accompaniment, you get…

Errands have been run, money has been spent, stuff has been bought. Never having been a person energized by shopping, I’m taking a break at Panera. But I’ve got the solution to the Christmas tree problem in the car – this year, it’ll be out of Riley’s nomming range, on a riser that doubles as an ornament storage box. I’ve made a start on the stocking stuffers everyone gets on Christmas morning, and I’ve got David sorted. He’ll get stonkin stuffers, too, so that’s on track. I’ve got a solution for the kitty box problem; the problem is that the…

I’m riding 35 miles in the Chicagoland Tour de Cure this June to raise money to help STOP diabetes. I’m also riding to support my husband +David Gibbs in his own ride – he’s the leader of Team RED. Tour de Cure is a major fundraising event for the American Diabetes Association. I’m also riding because it’s fun, and great exercise. I’ll be training over the winter in our basement, and I’ll get training stats up on STRAVA, a fitness social media site. If I raise just $100 by Friday, I qualify for an “In Training” T-shirt. So please consider…

… there were a bunch of borked plugins because I haven’t stayed on top of settings changes. Gradually fixing them all. GAH!

It’s still causing some people problems, but it’s not a very simple setup. It works, but I was working under the impression that simply doing a +1 from within Feely would kick it off, but it has to be a full-on share.

My friend Ellen in Germany saw a recent story about getting 3D printed action figures on her blog recently (see Creativ Zeit) However, my brother-in-law Mitch and I had already conspired together to produce this masterpiece: This came about because Mitch found a website that with a few photos could generate a Star Trek action figure of your choice with your head or the head of a loved one on it. He also found a website that could generate .OBJ files, which can be opened in Blender. So I told David I was working on a weird “art project” for…

I’m off this week, I’ve been getting stuff done at home, and today’s the designated “de-clutter the living room and drop stuff off at Sparrow’s Nest day.” But I stopped to log in and check email, and also research an under-desk keyboard tray because the built-in one on my desk broke (no great loss). Typically, I start with Google, as it’s my default home page. I have to admit, they got me with this one, but the story behind it is even better. High school senior Sabrina Brady’s entry into Google’s annual Doodle 4 Google contest really stood out. The…
