Testing image blogging from iPhone with Express app… UPDATE: Yeah, still need to add those template tags. More later, much less boring.

The point of installing the WooTumblog plugin was to try out the Express blogging app for iPhones, which is specific to self-hosted blogs like Blogula Rasa. I need to be able to blog more easily than the official WordPress app seems to allow.

Just listened to @WaitWait with Dick Van Dyke, who totally rocked “Not My Job” with his comprehensive knowledge of vans and dikes. What a delight when he SANG the “Dick Van Dyke Show” jingle! Still testing WooTumblr – David DOES need to edit the tags in the theme so that it picks up photos, links, and so on. I’m adding a link via the RTF buttons in the normal Article function this time. Also, the time stamp is not updating. UPDATE: And the link did not work either. No point in testing further until David gets a chance to update…

The phrase “…and the thousands of astronauts to follow” made me burst into tears. Still testing WooTumblog, this is the Links function

This is a test of the Article function of the plugin, which has rich text editing for adding images, links, and HTML so it’s already more functional than the QuickPress widget WordPress provides AND the advanced options include the ability to edit posting date, add categories, and something called “additional tumblogs”

Testing an image URL now…. thinking I may be able to wrap images with the DIV classes to give borders/drop shadows… UPDATE: Also didn’t work; had to add image URL so I went ahead and added the link to the origin page and the drop shadow DIVs. David will have to take a look at what’s going on with images. UPDATE: Working, but need to figure out how to apply at least minimal CSS with border and white margin to images.

I has a FEERCE on the Internets Toobz! I’m testing a new plugin for self-hosted WordPress blogs called “WooTumblog” that should function with my iPhone once I install the app from the iTunes store. Since the app costs $4.99, I’m testing the desktop version of the plugin. David has created a child theme of my current Amazing Grace theme and backed it up… here goes. UPDATE: Note, the image upload did not display, I had to add it – although it WAS shown as a gallery image for the post, so I didn’t have to re-upload it.

David was out of town for a couple of days this week, leaving me to knock around in the evenings watching weird shows he doesn’t like and saving up most of TiVo’s good stuff for when he got home, which was last night. I watched a whole lot of Hoarders, some Intervention, a couple of nice old movies, and random stuff… but I made sure to watch this week’s Stargate: Universe because it’s an interesting take on familiar science fiction themes. Unlike other “Lost In Space” type shows, there’s conflict between characters, people can die or be seriously injured, and…

After hosting a dear friend from college who’s traveling on an Amtrak USA railpass this month, I’m happy to see this news. In fact when I told my workmates about my friend’s epic journey to Glacier National Park, now they want to try it too… just not without using Amtrak’s horrible reservations system, “Arrow.” Maybe an improvement to one of our tools sometime next year will make it easier to book the occasional business traveler. That said, I’m a rail fan, and I really wish the US hadn’t turned its passenger rail systems into a few tourist routes and a…

… hoping it’s an okay economy for mini-churches like St Nicholas where much of the work is done by volunteers. And hey! It’s Fannie May candy time! Good thing we don’t have to finance much but a small budget and extras for the food pantry. In addition, the 10,000-member church canceled this year’s Glory of Easter pageant, which attracts thousands of visitors and is a regional holiday staple. The church was founded in the 1950s at a drive-in theater and attracted congregants with its sermons on the power of positive thinking. Its worship hall features a soaring glass spire that…
