Needed some spacing and line break tweaks to avoid invoking the Smiley of Head-Shaking Disbelief. Oh, and that reminds me, I should think about re-applying clickable smileys again. One quirk of iTunes and ecto and WMPtunelog now is that I have to stop and restart the music to get multiple music citations in the same post. I am one fierce tweaking twiddling diva. I am not yet worthy to be a Liberal Peace-Mongering Ninja, however. I was invited to take part in the event, but had that urgent family nosh event to attend. One more tweak to the media template in ecto: need to use an entity for the ampersand in my character entity for tied eighth notes! And an ampersand, not a percent! Then click “APPLY.” Now listening:♫ The Police:Can’t Stand Losing You:Outlandos d’Amour (Remastered)[2:58] Technorati Tags: iTunes

I just lost a post to ecto Hell; I did not save it first before attempting to publish, not realizing that my internet connection dropped. I’ve got 3 new stylesheets working – Talian3C (center content), Talian3CR (sidebars on right), with my hacked drop-shadows added to their stylesheets. Also fiddled with ecto trying to add a musical note character entity to the media template. Now listening:%#9835; Liz Phair:Polyester Bride:Whitechocolatespaceegg[4:05] Trying this again…

Inclusive Church blog: Our sound is our wound: audio of an address by the Revd Canon Lucy Winkett A long, but very interesting address from last fall’s Inclusive Church conference, “Drenched in Grace.” Best line: “We talk in the Church about modern music. We don’t mean modern music, we mean The Carpenters.”

Doctor visits go online — chicagotribune.com By the time San Francisco consultant Meg Young got to Boston on a chilly night last winter, she was running a 102-degree fever. She considered going to the emergency room. Instead, she went online in her hotel room. The 40-year-old technology expert booked a visit with her primary-care doctor at Stanford University Hospital. After Young filled out a form and described her symptoms, he diagnosed a bacterial infection, prescribed an antibiotic from a drugstore near the hotel and suggested she get some rest. This article says that a couple of major health insurers are now…

I’m still battling the cold and cough, hoping to avoid a 5-month bout of bronchitis like last year… when it finally went away after I started taking anti-acid reflux drugs in addition to some prescription and over-the-counter medications for general cough and asthma. There’s some kind of connection. In about half an hour, we leave to go to lunch with the family, at a deli up in Highland Park. It’s bitterly cold, and with the wind-chill factor it’s about -20 degrees, something that’s guaranteed to get my cold-weather asthma to kick in (something else I have to avoid if I’m…

Detail of the back of PB Katharine’s mitre and chausuble. Still testing ecto, I see that it’s adding an extra space after the IMG tag, as reported on the support forum. I may need to reinstall, as this may be a slightly older version.

After reinstalling ecto, which I like to use for blog posts because it works on my WordPress and Blogspot blogs, it suddenly stopped working and threw some kind of error. Frustrated, I set it aside and blogged using the other interfaces. On a whim, I tried opening it today, and there it is, working again. It must have been some update or other that David ran on our server(s). I’ll see if I can get profiles built (again) for my various blogs. I like ecto because it has a number of little buttons for easily adding Amazon, YouTube, Flickr, and…

1 hurt as backstage fire halts performance of ‘Peter Pan’ at Elgin high school — chicagotribune.com ELGIN – A small fire broke out Saturday at a high school dance performance of “Peter Pan” in Elgin, forcing the audience of about 300 to evacuate. One person was injured – nothing fatal or too serious, fortunately. The Tribune has amateur video that has a surreal sequence of various costumed cast members evacuating, some calmly, some in a panic. Tinkerbell trots down the sidewalk pretty briskly, and another character screams “It’s horrible!” as she races by the camera, but one of the mice…

Since yesterday, the website of the Anglican Church of Nigeria has been completely redesigned. Not only is retired Presiding Bishop Frank Griswold’s picture with Archbishop Akinola gone, but the picture above it with the Archbishop of Canterbury is gone too. They used to have a Flash animation splash page, which now seems to be the header image, with only Archbishop Akinola’s image, with a big pulsating purple cross. Guess we can expect a statement soon.
