It’s The Crafty Church Lady!

Due to popular demand (okay, one person but I aim to please) here’s how I made the “hanging pouches” for flyers for Holy Moly. Well, they’re ridiculously simple.

If you’re not into the church thing, here’s a rilly cool marbles game!

Anyway, if you’re interested, read on.

Here we have an ordinary 6″ X 9″ clasp envelope.

And here we have the front of the envelope cut down (not very neatly) to show ad copy or something with a little visual impact on the top of the half-size flyer tucked within.

I’m actually using lavender paper (church lady fact: purple is the liturgical color of Easter and Advent!) but I only had a white one handy. I added a “The Episcopal Church welcomes you” note with a purple Sharpie on the pouches I already dropped off or gave out to the others.

The pouches can be stuffed with as many flyers as you can fit – the point was to make it noticeable, and easy to take a flyer away without people having to fiddle with ripping little tabs of paper off with phone number and address like you see on “community bulletin boards” where people are advertising for roomies or selling bikes or whatnot.

So there you have it. In other church news, I’m going to make a proper fool of myself trying to sing that big, long, scary acapella thing (with my friend Katie). What was I thinking?
