A Bit More Flailing About

I’m revisiting a topic from a few weeks back that I never successfully resolved. I didn’t previously see The Designspace: A couple of ways to post code in MoveableType before.

So let’s see if we can get this to work again, because earlier today when I tried to use it, it was so very broken still.

I tried this macro solution before, which requires the use of square brackets instead of angle brackets. However, it won’t work right so don’t use it unless you know what you’re doing with macros. I don’t, so couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

.

Edited to add: GAH! It’s really not good to put MT tags in an MT post, no matter what. Perhaps if I blockquote it? No. Perhaps if I use the other method, run the code through Accessify, then surround it in a text area…

I figure I’ll be able to use the code tag for all except anything with HTML or MT tags. Maybe.

Edited yet again to add:
And now Elise mentions another couple of methods. In the meantime, the macro shown in the textarea box is not right, so don’t copy it. I can’t seem to get it to work at all, and it’s invoked by using square [] brackets anyway, so I can ignore it for now. At least I have the CSS style working more or less the way I want it for any code that doesn’t include tags, and I have the text area option if I do have something to post that does.

I tried using the Code Beautifier plugin previously, too; it was more than I needed and I still couldn’t post tags.

I think there’s a chance I might try to write a macro that automagically adds column, row and wrap information for textarea, though. Will ponder that later.
