Illuminati Shmoominati

***Dave Does the Blog passed along a virus meme, so I decided to play.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions

Then I’ll show you the Eclipse Workbench User Guide, an in-depth guide to the features of the workbench.

Not that I understand what this book is about – just that it was physically closest to me on the right hand side.

In fact, Joe’s a friend of ours, and we’re having dinner with him on Wednesday. So what’s the hey.

In retrospect, I might have gotten something cooler out of Neverwhere, by Neil Gaiman. But it’ll be fun to kid Joe about his entrance into memeland.

  1. Okay, I’ll play. And the nearest book at hand is the Bible.

    Genesis 25:33:

And Jacob said, “First swear to me”; so he
[Esau] swore to him, and sold his birthright
    to Jacob.

And so the ancestor of ancient Israel swindled his brother. Perhaps the Illuminati *were* behind this, practicing for modern-day Middle East politics.

I went to visit http://www.hill-kleerup.org/blog/ to find out about this challenge in a bit more detail. In my search, I sifted through 170,000 characters of commentary on his main page. But it seems I missed out, because all that stuff was just from his last three days of writing. Damnation Eternal, man, Get A Life.

  2. Darn them Illuminati anyway.

If you wanted to find out more about this meme or virus, a quick check of Google, maybe looking for “Illuminati meme” or similar.

‘Cause hey! I like Dave. He’d a prodigious poster, I will allow. He’s also likes a lot of the things I like. So I read, and keep up.

I had to laugh – you’re the one that keeps Wednesdays open so you can go to the comic book shop, remember. ;D
