Rats rats RATS. One of the issues that came up in the staff meeting last week was the problem of people who come to work sick. One of my cow-orkers has been down with strep and a cough the last week or so, and since the policy is you can’t be out more than 3 days in a row without having to get a doctor’s note and or go on salary continuation, people tend to come back too soon.
Now it seems the annoying sensation at the back of my throat has become something that feels like the beginnings of strep, or possibly a sinus infection. It’s nasty and cold today, and a storm is expected later, so I’m staying home. I’ll have to miss choir practice tonight, too. DRAT!!
I’ve checked in with my TL and had left printouts of emails that were the priority projects on my desk last night, so she’ll contact a couple of people by email to put them off for a day or so.
I’m drinking lots of tea and will probably have to fall back on the noxious remedy Mom always used, the dreaded salt-water gargle.
Meanwhile, today was when the papers for the house closing arrived at work. DRAT!!! At least there’s plenty of time to take care of them, since Timmy sent them to me early. If necessary, my TL will send them to me, or I can have David pick them up tonight after work from Dar, and he’ll send them for me tomorrow. So that’s no problem.
